Awesome efforts – we are proud of you all!

Battle by the Bay 15 in Cleveland, Qld

Bryce Gibbs came up from Lismore in Northern NSW to fight in Brisbane on Battle By The Bay.  Although not coming away with the win, he certainly showed pure heart!

Bryce fought tonight at Battle By The Bay 15 and did himself and our gym proud. Bryce showed determination and heart fighting back from a knock down in round one to knock his opponent down in round three. That made it one round each, leaving round two in the judges hands. But unfortunately luck wasn’t on our side tonight with the judges awarding a points decision to Bryce’s opponent.” – Martial Arts First Lismore

Nakia “Dropbear” Wright went all in to fight for the WBC QLD Super Lightweight Title.  Unfortunately the fight was stopped in the 2nd round after Nakia got caught with a head kick and wasn’t able to answer the 8 count.  She fought hard and despite the result Nakia posted this great post fight status. Here’s an excerpt:

… Unfortunately I lost my fight last night by 2nd round TKO via a solid head kick that I could not recover from within the count… While I’m absolutely gutted, I have so many positives to take away from last night. Up until the kick I was putting on the best performance of my fight career. In a small amount of time I managed to deliver a bunch of techniques from my bucket list and I felt absolutely amazing, strong, powerful and focused. I hadn’t turned it up yet and I couldn’t wait to see what the later battle rounds were going to bring out of me. My new found health and mindset allowed me to train and fight through a sprained rib without an inch of doubt and I had the most amazing team supporting me the whole way.” – Nakia “Dropbear” Wright

Kristy Gentle was back over the ropes again on the weekend in Brisbane on Battle by the Bay. No win for The PowerLounge boss lady this time around.

Well learnt a lot about myself and body, can take a punch!!!…Was a bit off tonight, couldn’t switch on but still went my rounds. Thanks for the cheers homies. Live to fight another day. Back on the grind” – Kristy Gentle

No win for Kristy “Boss Lady” Gentle

Sam Rocker stepped in to fight his second battle to date, unfortunately he did not come away with a win.

Kelly Ramsbottom  fought in Melbourne on Rebellion Roots, coming away with a UPD loss and another fight achievement to add to her experience.  Kelly is such a strong and hard working fighter, we just love seeing you in action!

The journey is more important than the destination….I can say this is one I have embraced and learnt so much from absolutely stoked with my performance” -Kelly Ramsbottom

DAMIAN “HURRICANE” HALL fought in Thailand on the weekend stepping up to a tough opponent, but unfortunately this young NSW fighter didn’t grab a win this time around.

On Saturday night Damian faced a 19yr old opponent at Ratchaburri University for the Queens Birthday. Damian was stopped by a much more experienced fighter but showed great heart. A massive thank you to everyone at Sitmonchai for everything they do for Damian and everyone that supports him. At Damian’s age it all experience, win lose or draw it will help him become a better fighter. ❤️?” ~ Jim Hall (Dad)
