This months NRF member featured fighter….

Name: Nick Allen
Fight Name: Anvil
Fight Style: Muay Thai
Fight Stats: 12 fights 8 wins 4 losses

Nick started training in October 2010 after being a fan of combat sports for some time “I watched a lot of MMA/UFC and the Evolution shows and decided to go down to No Limits Mixed Martial Art in the pre-season of footy to try and improve my fitness. I never went back to footy and have stayed training at the gym ever since”.

Nick surrounds himself in Martial Arts, with a white belt in BJJ, training Muay Thai and fighting in the ring. “I have been fighting pretty regularly and training for Muay Thai has been taking up most of my spare time”

When asked what makes him the fighter he is today, Nick answered “A great trainer and training partners that have believed in me, a lot of hard work and sacrifice and a big passion for the sport”. His goals are to “Keep training hard and fighting as much as possible, hopefully be able to fight interstate and be as successful as I can”. With Carnage, Tommahawk, Ernesto Hoost, Frank Giorgi and Daddy Cool on his list of favourites fighters, it’s no wonder Nick strives to train hard.

Nick trains 6 days a week with a rest day on the weekend, his sessions usually go for 1-1.5 hours and when he has some time out he likes to relax with mates and family, eat good food and experience new things.

During his fight career Nick recalls his most memorable moments…”Every time I fight is pretty memorable for me. Fighting for the WBC VIC title was a pretty memorable moment as well. Also going up to QLD and training/meeting all the guys at Urban Fight Gym was pretty amazing”.

Some final words from Nick “Anvil” Allen…
“I would like to thank my trainer Clint Foo for teaching me everything and giving me so many opportunities . All the guys down at No Limits for being great guys and training partners and my family and friends for always being so supportive and understanding – especially leading up to fights”

Nick is currently training for his next fight in September on the Warriors Way show in Melbourne.
