Team Muaythai Australia fighting at the IFMA Royal World Cup – Thailand

nrf-worldchampionshipspromo

The IFMA Royal World Cup is held August 12 – 23rd 2015.   We have 12 of our members representing Australia in a huge 10 day Muaythai Tournament against over 100 countries around the globe.  The event is being held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The competition will see each of our members fight in their weight categories for a Gold Medal in a “last person standing” type tournament.  Each fighter who wins their bouts will move on to the next fight all the way to the finale.

This is a rigorous process because for each day our athletes fight they must weigh in again the morning of their next fight.

We are very proud to have such amazing talent representing Australia and NRF and we are cheering you all from back home!! GO TEAM AUSTRALIA!!!

Check out some photos of the team Muaythai Australia preparing in Thailand and competing. Photo’s will be updated throughout the duration of the competition so keep checking back!

Updates:

Unfortunately due to illness Corey has had to withdraw from the competition.  Corey is absolutely gutted and has trained so hard for this.

We are happy to announce after the terrible incidences happening in Bangkok, although the bombings were not too far from where the Australian Team are staying and competing, all Aussie team members are safe and sound and are keeping their morale high in this stressful time for the people of Thailand.  Our thoughts go out to the families of those affected by these atrocious acts.

In total Australia had 34 competitors with 24 coming away with medals.  See below for our NRF members results who all contributed to the majority of the Australian team medal count! Well done to all fighters on representing our country with Pride and Professionalism.
