You started when you were 16 years old, what got you into the sport?

I wasn’t a kid with a lot of confidence and I had a lot of anxiety growing up, nor did I really have a group of friends. At this time there was a trainer who wanted to invest their time into someone to build them up, and he came across me and wanted to turn me into a fighter, so he brought me down to the everlasting gym and it went from there on.. I fell in love with the sport straight away. I would watch fighters on the bag and watch them on pads, and I would always say, that would be me one day! From that moment on, I dedicated myself and here I am..”

What is your biggest success in your career so far?

My biggest success would be having the opportunities that I have had so far. From being nominated to, 2016 upcoming female fighter, to fighting for titles.”

What have you had to sacrifice to get to where you are now? What have you gained?

I haven’t sacrificed much, but I’ve gained a lot. I’ve gained an amazing bond with my coach, a great relationship with people in the gym. I have amazing confidence in myself and don’t suffer with anxiety as much as I have. I’ve learnt to be disciplined, I’ve learnt to not give up, whether it’s training, a fight, or just in life in general. I’ve gained my personality and the person I am today!”

I look up to Tiffany Van Soest, and Caley Reece! I watch their fights endlessly. I’m inspired as a fighter, to the people who look up to me at the gym. Sometimes when I’m tired on the bag or pads, I remember who’s watching and I remind myself I have to keep going.”

Is it more important to be respected or feared?

… I guess you want your opponent to fear you, but you want to be respected by the people you’re around and want to be around. I guess being respected, but also knowing you’re a girl who can unleash their fire and knows their true potential.”

What’s coming up for you in the next few months?

Hopefully I get some opportunities to show who I am, and how much of a great fighter I am. Hopefully there is a fight coming in April, but we will see! I guess that will get me into a 6-8 week fight camp.”

What do you enjoying doing when you’re not training?

I love making people happy and pushing them towards their goals. I also love eating, eating a lot of food.. haha!”

If you were injured and could no longer train or fight, what would your fallback plan be?

I would defiantly still be at the gym, assisting with as much as I can and being involved in as much as I can.”

Anything else you’d like to share with everyone?

Just keep going with your goals, and dream big. Step outside your comfort zone and never give up! You never know the possibilities and potential you have unless you try. Thanks NRF for making me fighter of the month!”
