Congratulations goes out to NRF Fighter Tumay Hamza.   On the weekend Tumay took home the IKBF Asia PacificFeatherweight Title by round 2 KO.

Hamza had trained hard for this title fight. His opponent was 10153883_639465652837206_578948628200761903_ntouted as a tough Thai opponent and many had thought Hamza to be the underdog in this fight.  “The driving factor for me was that people started to doubt my ability off the back of a couple of split decision losses, although I knew these were both to opponents with a considerable amount of experience having advantage over me so this win for me was extremely satisfying”

Round 1 Hamza says “The first round was fairly even but I believe I just did enough win it”

Round 2 got under way watch the video here..

As soon as  Tumay got back to the neutral corner, his mind was  racing….”I was expecting him to get up because I trained my butt off and didn’t expect it to end so quick…I was expecting it to go the distance…however, I knew I had landed a heavy left round kick to the body”

A very happy Hamza had some final words to say to those who have helped and supported him…
I would like to thank Olympic Training Centre the club I have called home for over 25 years where I started training as a Taekwondo student at the age of 5 under head instructor Jemal Hasan and my corner 2008 Beijing Olympian Burak Hasan, Mick Rajab and Mark Galea for helping me with my boxing.

I devote this win to my late father, I felt he was with me throughout my prep for this fight”
