promembers-male-quintonsmithMost 12 year olds are in sports such as football, basketball, baseball, and swimming. But
Quinton ‘Da Hitman’ Smith isn’t like most 12 year olds. Smith is Muay Thai fighter and is
getting ready to battle it out for the WKBF Australian Light Straw Weight Muay Thai Title at Rumble at The Ridge Fight on June 11th.

This will be an awesome fight to watch, his opponent is a 3x Queensland State Champion and Quinton is definitely a strong contender to take out the win on the night!
“I’m so ready for this bout,” said Smith.  “Da Hitman”  is a yellow belt in JiuJitsu and back in 2014, he placed fourth in Australia for hisRumble at the Ridge
weight in BJJ. He also placed second at the Pan Pacific game in BJJ back in 2014.  The Pan Pacific are held in Queensland every year, with over 13,000
participants taking take part in the event, so it’s no easy feat to get silver!
Additionally,  Quinton has also competed and been the victor in MMA, Muay Thai, and also boxing!  What an all rounder he is!

I started at the age of 10 doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) which I travelled all over Australia to compete in the highest level of BJ,” said Smith. “I became QLD champion and North QLD champion as well as a silver medalist in the Pan Pacific Games too.”

“Once I learned how to strike and kick, I traveled to Brissy for an MMA fight and won. Since then all I have ever wanted to do was to become a fighter,” said Smith.

“Twelve months ago I had my first Muay Thai fight and loved the combat Muay Thai has taken me to a whole new level of art and skill which I’m still learning.”
Smith has come a long way as a fighter. He’s taken his fighting to an entire new level and looks
to improve everyday.  “I used to compete in league in the 10 and under group. When a parent
asked me If I had done any fighting I told her I only had boxed a little bit. They invited me over
to their house to12794915_532019026980802_9180055601751419905_o have a session with him and his son, and three years later I still go over there,
fusion fight and fitness has taught me everything I know!”
Smith doesn’t necessarily think he has any one strong suit, he is a very balanced fighter that can do it all.

“I don’t have a strong suit in the ring,” Smith said. “I just go with how the fight is folding
out.”  “Da Hitman” hasn’t gotten to where he is now with ease. It’s been a long, grueling grind do get where he is now.

My journey as a child has been tough I have been tested for leukemia which
took a lot out off me when I was clear that I didn’t have it my world became a bright place,” said Smith.

Quinton’s hard work and perseverance prevails along with his natural talent and skill. “…I just want to compete to my best of knowledge and showcase what I have been taught in combat,” he said.
“I have a lot of respect for fighters, judgers, and other trainers in this sport”12928437_550160878499950_5006941513405816538_n

I am just Quinton “Da Hitman Smith” who happens to want to become a champion in the art of Muay Thai.”
